WHAM BAM AMSTERDAM!

Our trip to Amsterdam was so fun and way too short!  We spent most of our time there wandering from coffee shop to coffee shop, but we also got to see the house Anne Frank lived in during WWII.  There are canals throughout the city, so during the days seagulls flew overhead among the already whimsical looking buildings.  At night the neon signs lit up and the streets became crowed with other tourists (I don't think we saw so many Americans since New York) and friendly locals with lots of goodies to sell us.  Although it was absolutely freezing there, we both can't wait to visit the city again this semester.

THE LOUVRE!

Today we went to the most visited museum in the world, Musée du Louvre.  We were not able to see all of the works in the museum in one day, so we concentrated on French Paintings and antiques, Greek and Roman sculpture, and Ancient Egyptian art.  The crowd in front of the most famous works, like the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, were crazy but worth the wait!

Notre Dame

Even though it was a rainy day, Amanda and I grabbed our umbrellas and walked over to Notre Dame, one of the first Gothic cathedrals in the world, and also one of the most spectacular!  The details in the design of the cathedral were amazing and oddly enough it was still decorated for Christmas.

In front of Notre Dame sits the center of Paris, a spot that if you touch you are destined to return.
